460g Flour

58g sugar

1 tsp salt

1 egg

58g butter

150 ml buttermilk

1 pkt yeast with 90 ml cold water

Mix the yeast and water and keep aside

Add all the other ingredients together and then add yeast mixture

Knead for 10 minutes and then let it rise until double in size.

Please note that these measurements are accurate. You can add a little flour if it’s a bit sticky.

CREME FILLING:

2 cups milk

1/3 cups castor sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract or essence

Heat these 3 ingredients together in a pot on the

stove. Do not boil.

In a separate bowl add:

2 egg yolks

1 tbls Custard powder

1/2 cup milk

1/4 cup cornflour

Mix all this together

Add some of the warm milk mixture to the egg mix

Add the mixture to the pot on the stove and whisk on low heat until thick.

Pour over into a bowl and wrap with cling film until cold.

After dough is double in size, roll out, and cut into round shapes, I used a small glass.

Let it rise again and then fry into hot oil.

Let it cool and then pipe with the Creme filling. Dip doughnuts into melted chocolate, I used one slab of Dairy milk chocolate.

This doughnut is also perfect for just dipping it into cinnamon sugar, or you could fill it with Nutella, cream, Lotus biscoff ect
