Ingredients
1 x 1.5kg chicken cut into pieces
125ml Sunflower oil
2 potatoes quartered
2 onion finely chopped
200ml water.
Masala
2 tsps plain ginger/garlic masala
Salt to taste
1 tsps Crushed chillies
1 tsps ground jeero/cumin
1 tsps ground cloves
30ml lemon juice
2 tsps peri peri sauce
Method
Wash and drain the chicken.
Mix the ginger/garlic, chillies, jeera/cumin, masala cloves, lemon juice and peri peri sauce to a paste.
Rub into the chicken pieces and set aside.
Heat oil in a saucepan and fry potatoes ion each side till browned, remove and set aside.
Add onions to the saucepan and braise till golden.
Add chicken pieces and cook for about 15 minutes.
Add water and cook further for 10 minutes over medium heat.
Add potatoes and simmer until potatoes are well done.
Serve with savory rice.
