3 cups flour
¾ tsp salt
10g instant yeast
2 Tbsp thick ghee
1 egg
1 cup milk
¼ cup sugar
Method:
Sift flour and yeast into a bowl
Heat the milk and allow it to cool down until lukewarm before you heat in the sugar, ghee and egg.
Make a soft bread dough, knead well and allow the dough to rise double in volume. Punch and knead and divide dough into 2. Make 8 balls out of each lump of dough.
Grease 2 round cake pans. Place one ball in centre of each pan and arrange the other 7 around it in a circle.
Let rise again and brush dough with egg yolk and sprinkle with sesame and poppy seeds.
Bake at 180° for 10 15 minutes.
Your choice of filling:
Cooked meat
Cooked chicken
Once the dough has risen, spread out a ball of dough on the palm of your hand, place a good prepared chicken or meat filling in the middle and then close over with extended dough.
Place it with enclosed side down on the baking tray .
Bake as above.
