Synopsis: The compiler Ml Abdul Rahman Jami is a well-known polymath, traveller, scholar and courtier of 15th century Persia who wrote prolifically. He is known to be a Sufi master of the Naqshbandi tariqa. His narrative poems, like those on Yusuf (as) and Zuleikha and Layla and Majnoon provided important Quranic allegory.
Herein he doesn’t aim to impress the reader with rare ahadith – rather the emphasis is on short ahadith on diverse ethical principals. They are accompanied by Farsi quatrains and notes, and English translations. Young, dynamic and very capable scholar Ml. Uwais Namazi of the UK has taken the Arabic statements of Ml Jami’ and found reference in hadith texts to retain the compilation’s critical rigour.
This book is Number 8 in a series on the 40 ahadith by Turath Books and an excellent and aesthetically pleasing addition to any library.
