The DA believes that this bill is a very racist one that will affect some of the minorities in South Africa. KZN DA leader Francois Rodgers said that this bill could see roughly 600 000 people losing their jobs, and certain businesses will also fail due to the inability to meet up with some of what the bill entails. This bill, according to Rodgers, is causing division on Racial lines.

Rodgers said this new employment equity act could see employers firing some of their employees of a different race to make room for black workers, and businesses that choose not to adhere to the new bill will be fined. Rodgers, however, unfortunately, it is that the other parties are not showing the DA support in reversing the bill by the ANC.

The meeting took place at the Redfern Hall in Phoenix, the meeting was open to anyone who wished to attend, and DA leader John Steenhuisen addressed everyone present and unpacked the details of the bill and also to alert the public of how the DA aims to tackle the bill. The issue is currently in court, and the DA seeks to tackle the bill in all ways possible.
