Our Muhaajir (name of Muazzin) has mastered the art of calling to prayer, appropriate to the Salaah.
His call would be brief for the Esha Salah after a long day, simply cajoling the listener to prayer. The Azan for Maghrib though, would be relatively much longer since the Salah is immediately thereafter, thereby enabling the Musallis to take ablution and join the Takbeere Oola.
A Somber and sad tune would be adopted if there’s a nearby resident’s funeral. He would call the Azaan with vigor and strength for Zohar to ensure that all mundane activities be abandoned.
A peaceful, calming, yet compelling call would be made when summoning to Fajar.
During Ramadan the excitement is evident in his tone whilst Eid brings out the most exciting effects.
Muhaajir had graduated as an Aalim in Malawi since his father identified his potential and could affect change in his motherland Malawi. “I love the Quraan and would like to memorize it”, he often says.
Having memorized some portions of the Quraan, he is determined to learn the entire Mashaf. He had initially worked for a Pizza outlet but yearned the opportunity to serve the deen from the front.
The Rainbow Masjid had released an advertisement in search of a Muazzin for which he comfortably fitted the requirements.
