AMEER MERCKEL
2ND SUBMISSION
In the name of Allah Most Gracious Most Merciful.
My name us Shimane Clifford Mabuse I am a resident of the community of Ennerdale south of Johannesburg and i felt it was by Allah a favor to my soul to hear the competition announced on radio Islam. I wish to say the reason I mentioned my cultural name initially is solely because in case Allah accepts on behalf of the Muadhin I am applying for that should there be need for my South African Identity Document that it will substantiate my validity as a legal citizen.
I am a Muslim revert and when I came to find out about Islam I was 20 years old. One of the most spiritually magical experience of my life was to hear about the grades of Allah’s rewards and His retribution. As a then devout Christian in the community of Ennerdale I was never preview to what Islam has to offer until I was introduced to it by a certain man from Mozambique. More towards my research I got hold of books and Islamic material that spoke to my soul. It encouraged me so much that I felt if there ever was a time to leave this world it would have been then.
Amongst the many of the wonders of how Allah’s system is, was that Allah is a living God who will do things beyond our understanding and imagination, things like every step taken to the mosque in a state of wudhu carries rewards. That the invocation of tasbeeh is to plant a tree in Paradise. One of the most captivating of such promises was that of the Muadhin. His Role. His importance and after getting practical in my Islam to truly truthfully envy his rewards. To think that I used to be friends with people who mocked the Adhan in our ignorance we did not understand that there is a day called Qiyama when I would be asked to witness against myself as to having heard the name of Allah and His Messenger 5 times a day. Everyday and I never believed or at least inquired if anything.
So since I learned about the role of the Muadhin. The promise that on the day of Judgement every living thing from ant to human that heard the voice of the muadhin will serve as a witness on the muadhin’s behalf it forever remained a position in Islam I held in high esteem.
This mail is about a particular brother who for years since I was a conscious and active Muslim in my community there is a brother by the name of Hassan Khalil at Baitul Quran who for the longest time immemorial has been diligent in role as a Muadhin. I was in such a high as a revert that every time I heard the Adhan I used to fear that if I don’t go for salah I will not only bear witness for him in His credit but also bear witness against myself for not honoring the call. What mostly used to inspire me about his delivery was the melody in which he would execute the call. So much so that it was easy for even non muslims to pay mind to it how melodious he would deliver it.
I wish to openly declare by Allah as my Creator and witness to the sincerity of my declaration there is a Mosque in the extension 1 area in Ennerdale named Masjid Ridwaan where as a result of his inspiration lead me to chase after the rewards of being a Muadhin because of Hasan and I would go there timeously to exploit the opportunity of calling the adhan hoping in the event of my short fall on the day of Judgement the leaves of the trees, the animals, the insects, Jinn, and insaan will witness on my behalf that I bore witness to the oneness of Allah and that prophethood of his Messenger Muhammad Alayi Salatu WA Sallam.
I wish to add that Hasan is such a gentle soul that at times He would allow other brother the desire to openly declare as I had desired on Jummuah. I wish to ask in The space that I am in that Allah accepts that I need not wait for yeomul Qiyama to witness that He indeed testifies to the oneness of Allah and the prophethood of His Messenger.
He has a blessed family that stays in the confines of Baitul Quran and has a teenage son who follows in his father’s footsteps. His name is Haroon and at 14 he sometimes takes the responsibility of calling the Ennerdale community to prayer at Fajr and I in my heart envy my brothers blessings that Allah’s mercy is such that He Hasan is not the only one playing the role of parenting his children but that because of his diligence to be of service and also accumulate such great reward on a daily basis, that Allah is seeing to that responsibility on his behalf. His son is well mannered. 5 times a day everyday is adding to worshippers of the community the value of a valuable reminder to be amongst those who try to come close to Allah.
I make Allah My witness that I have a genuine honor and admiration for my Muadhin who also is a hafiz and and a muadhin. He has left me far behind in the scope of reward and nearness because everyday he is talking to Allah. Every Ramadhan He us there. Even if it was not for him to win this entry He if Allah accepts will be of those who Allah will honor greatly because I for one am of those who is witness that He Hasan has called to the success of this world and that of the world to come.
