Digify Africa, in partnership with Meta and Michael & Susan Dell Foundation (MSDF), has announced the 2024 application drive for the Digify PRO Online programme, designed to empower youth ages 18-35 in South Africa.

Digify PRO Online, a transformative and free programme, offers an innovative and empowering digital entrepreneurship experience centred around the dynamic field of digital marketing.

According to Blessing Letsoara, Digify PRO Project Manager at Digify Africa, the 2024 leg of the programme introduces a newly re-imagined roll-out plan. This plan takes participants on a progressive journey, spanning three levels-foundational, intermediate, and advanced. Each level is meticulously designed to equip participants with practical expertise, setting them up for self-sustaining digital careers.

Letsoara highlighted how the Digify PRO Intermediate Level differs from the foundational phase and what specific skills it aims to develop.

“The difference with the Foundation and Intermediate is the learning about the digital world, economy and digital skills needed to understand before learning about other opportunities in that space,” he says.

Letsoara further explains, “The Intermediate then starts you on a path where you would get a better look into some economic pathways which are available. Including a deeper dive into digital strategy, social media management, community management and all the careers available in the digital industry that could be to your advantage.”

Digify Africa continues to use emerging technologies, such as Learning Experience Platforms, AI, and WhatsApp chatbots, to provide access to learning opportunities.

Crucial to the programme’s success is active collaboration with other civil society organisations with a common purpose. Among Digify Africa’s strategic partnerships are digital innovation hubs and organisations such as Rise Africa Care Foundation in Lydenburg Mpumalanga, Bokamoso Youth Centre in Alexandra, Gauteng, Vukani Solutions in QhwaQhwa and Botshabelo in Bloemfontein, Free State who are committing to avail their hubs and resources for youth in their communities to access the programme.
