1 cup grated dhodi
¼ cup mealie meal
¼ cup cake flour
¾ chana flour
1 Tbsp oil
3 bunches large leaves of methi bhaji (chopped)
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
½ tsp crushed jeera
1 tsp crushed dhunia seeds
½ tsp turmeric
1 tsp ground chilli
¾ cup chopped dhunia
1 egg
1 medium onion grated
Method:
Combine all the ingredients together and mix well but take care not to squeeze bhaji.
Mould the mixture into moothias and fry slowly in shallow oil till they are browned it is wise to rest batter in fridge for a while before attempting to mould
These mmoothias can be served as a savoury with chutney or placed in a vegetable curry, in which case there would be no need to fry them.
