Ingredients
¼ lb Butter
½ cup Sugar
2 tblsps Golden Syrup
2 Eggs
1 tsp each ginger, mixed spice, cinnamon
1 tsp Bi Carb of Soda
3 cups cake flour
1 cup hot water
1 cup chopped dates
1 cup chopped Peacans/Walnuts
Method:
Cream the butter and sugar and syrup well. Add the eggs one at a time. Add the flour , spices , and bi carb, dates and nuts. Lastly add the hot water. Bake in moderate oven 180c for 1 hour in a loaf tin.
