Gratitude for the Sunnah of Nabi SAW Part 7 A

Prophet Muhammad ﷺ is the greatest benefactor of humanity and a source of guidance for all mankind. Undoubtedly, sending of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ is the one of the greatest blessings of Allah bestowed upon man. It was Prophet Muhammad ﷺ who brought people from darkness to light through his teaching.

The best way to express love for Nabi ﷺ is to send peace and blessings upon him. Loving him, following him, obeying him and sending peace and blessing upon him is an essential part of faith (Iman) of every Muslim.

Allah says in the Holy Quraan:
“Indeed, Allah confers blessing upon the Prophet, and His angels [ask Him to do so]. O you who have believed, ask [Allah to confer] blessing upon him and ask [Allah to grant him] peace.” (Surah Al-Ahzab: 33:56)

“Whatever the Messenger has given you – take; and what he has forbidden you – refrain from. And fear Allah; indeed, Allah is severe in penalty.” (Surah Al-Hashr: 59:7)

Every Believer aspires to gain the love of Allah. But the question is how do we attain this love? Fortunately Allah has given us the solution to this in the Holy Quraan.

Tell the people O Muhammad: “If you sincerely love Allah, then follow me; Allah will also love you and forgive you your sins. Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.” (Al-I Imran: 3:31)

So the only true path that will lead us to Allah is the way of life of Muhammad ﷺ. And this should greatly please us because the way of life of Nabi ﷺ is simple, it`s practical, it`s easy and it is commonly found.

Furthermore the Hadith also teaches us that if we wish to be reckoned from amongst the true and obedient servants of Allah, than we need to first be obedient to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Being obedient to Him ﷺ, simply means following his Blessed ways and life.

Narrated by Abu Hurairah (RA) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said,
“Whoever obeys me, obeys Allah, and whoever disobeys me, disobeys Allah, and whoever obeys the ruler I appoint, obeys me, and whoever disobeys him, disobeys me.” (Sahih al-Bukhari 7137)

The Prophet ﷺ is a role model for all mankind till the day of judgement. Believers look at his Sunnah and learn how they can implement the teachings of Prophet ﷺ in their lives.

Reviving and follow the Prophet’s ﷺ Sunnah is a great blessing of Allah.

As Narrated by Anas bin Malik (RA),
‘O my son! If you are capable of (waking up in) the morning and (ending) the evening, while there is nothing of deception in your heart for anything, then do so.’ Then he said to me: ‘O my son! That is from my Sunnah. Whoever revives my Sunnah then he has loved me. And whoever loved me, he shall be with me in Paradise.'” (Tirmidhi: 2678)
