Greetings from Allah – Part 10

Greetings from Allah
The Muslim women of today can achieve true success by following in the footsteps of the best of women who lived in the best of eras. The pious will be thrilled to stick behind such women who were nurtured in the best of homes; the home of Nubuwwah. Allah raised their status and elevated their rank. He revealed verses of the Holy Qur’an in praise of them:

O wives of the Prophet, you are not like anyone among women. If you fear Allah. [Ahzab 33: 32]

They had most definitely inculcated Taqwa within themselves. Allah had chosen them for his beloved Prophet ﷺ from all of creation. He bestowed upon them superiority; they transcended the women of the world by the virtue of nobility and greatness. He cleansed them from physical and spiritual maladies, freeing their hearts from disbelief, polytheism, hypocrisy, and evil disposition. He purified the honourable consorts of Rasulullah ﷺ from actions which beget calamities. Allah the High says:

And abide in your houses and do not display yourselves as [was] the display of the former times of ignorance. And establish prayer and give Zakat and obey Allah and His Messenger. Allah intends only to remove from you the impurity [of sin], O people of the [Prophet’s] household, and to purify you with [extensive] purification. [Ahzab 33: 33]

Today we will continue to look at some of the merits and virtues of this noble and pious lady, the honourable wife of Rasulullah ﷺ.
One of the virtues of Umm al Mu’minin Khadijah RA has been mentioned thus that Allah Ta’ala through the medium of Jibreel AS instructed Rasulullah ﷺ: “Convey my salaam to Khadijah and that of Jibreel and give her the glad tidings of a fantastic palace in Jannat.”

Abu Hurairah RA reports:
Abu Huraira RA reported that Jibreel AS came to Allah’s Apostle (ﷺ) and said:

O Allah’s Messenger, Khadija is coming to you with a vessel of seasoned food or drink. When she comes to you, offer her greetings from her Lord, the Exalted and Glorious, and on my behalf and give her glad tidings of a house of jewels in Paradise wherein there is no noise and no toil. [Muslim 2432]

Al Suhayli comments regarding the mention of a house instead of the word “palace”:
There is a fine reason why ‘a house’ was promised, i.e. she was the custodian of the house before Nubuwwah as well as after Nubuwwah. She alone had this privilege. There was no household immediately after the Nubuwwah of Nabi ﷺ that accepted Islam, except hers. This is a merit which she shares with none. [Al Rawd al Unf]

The conveying of the salaam of Allah and Jibreel AS through the medium of the angels and the giving of glad tidings in this very world of a fabulous palace in Jannat is an accolade of great honour and virtue in her favour.
