Many garden, will be stunning in this month, when it displays its autumn foliage for gardens looking dull it would an opportunity to visit you local nursery to see how you can brighten up your garden with the wonderful winter blooms.
In cold gardens, no major cutting back of shrubs should be done as tender new growth is easily damaged by cold winds and frost.
Spread fallen leaves (gardeners gold) around shrubs as a protection from frost damage. Water soil well before spreading this much. It makes a rich and valuable leaf mould.
Sow seeds of winter herbs and vegetables into containers. You can try coriander, garlic, chives, parsley and rosemary.
Vegetables:
Lettuce, spinach, snap peas, radish broad bears and trumps in sunny patch in the garden. Try planting herbs and vegetables between other plants.
