In Kashmir, Indian Army atrocities continue :Parvez

In Kashmir, Indian Army atrocities continue : Parvez

By Ejaz Khan

This Morning Radio Islam’s Mufti Moosagie spoke to Khurram ParvezKashmiri human rights activist with Jammu and Kashmir Coalition for Civil Society (JKCSS),

Live from Kashmir on the situation faced by Kashmiri’s.

On how “justice” is being enforced:

“It’s a shameful resolution…India thinks its execution of justice is working well… on the contrary, denial of justice is overwhelming in Kashmir”

In not one case has the armed forces been taken to task for violations, mass graves, missing persons, torture , all part of the daily life in Kashmir…”

He spoke about the missing persons saga, where “widows” are left without closure on whether their husbands are arrested or have died:

“Missing persons saga is ongoing, the crying continues until these people return. They aren’t as many kidnappings happening right now, but those gone are not returning

Commission of enquiry would help the families to know whereabouts of their  family members. Indian army says that missing people have gone to Pakistan for armed training.

But we know for sure this is not true as they were abducted from their homes and disappeared since.”

On pressure from Human Rights watchdogs on India for the  Human Rights abuses:

“The Indian government has always been in denial, they don’t  to want to accept findings by Amnesty International and other fact finding reports.”

On International community and world powers turning a Blind eye:

“The world has lost its humanity.Who in the international community is putting pressure on India?
Western powers not doing so because they need India as an ally in the region.”

ON the so called “emergency Law” and whether it will be removed:

“Emergency law was passed in Parliament but the indian army says it cannot be moved without death

If the army calls the shots, they are the ones dictating the policy in Kashmir…The army is ruling Jammu Kashmir.”

On whether hope is fading for independence:

“In Kashmir, a lot of young people are fed up, but whether those who are who are part of resistant movements or not, we all united that  it does not matter when independence will come, but it WILL come and we don’t want to give up…We are hopeful we will succeed.

Allah will ask us what we did to fight FOR OUR INDEPENDENCE FROM THIS OPPRESSION. The results are in the hands of ALLAH”
