“A video captures the moment an Israeli strike hit the Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in #Gaza leaving at least 500 people dead, according to a health ministry spokesman.” Al Arabiya English: ara.tv/6r34e
In the heart-wrenching aftermath of the recent Gaza hospital massacre, where over 500 innocent lives were tragically lost, the conflict in the region continues to escalate, leaving families shattered and communities in despair. The devastating attack, which Palestinian sources suggest has led to an alarming death toll nearing 900, has left the international community in shock and condemnation.
According to eyewitnesses on the ground, the assault on the hospital was carried out by the Israeli occupation forces, a claim vehemently denied by Israeli authorities. Akram Al Sattari, a witness to the horrors, presented compelling evidence that the missile responsible bore markings indicating US ammunition, suggesting Israeli involvement.
“The impact of that missile cannot be attributed to a Palestinian rocket,” stated Sattari. “This ongoing systematic massacre is an attempt to wipe out the people of Palestine.”
“The people who are internally displaced because of the ongoing atrocities targeting them by the Israeli occupation, flee to those hospitals seeking safety, and they ended up killed there,” Al Sattari reported.
With reports of continuous bombardments and widespread destruction in several residential areas, including An-Nusayrat, Beit Lahiya, Gaza, and Rafah, the situation in Gaza remains dire. “No electricity, no water supplies, no food,” describes the appalling conditions faced by the besieged population, with the health system now teetering on the brink of collapse.
Dr Jasim Abu Moussa, one of the courageous medical staff, suffered the heart-wrenching loss of his son, nephew, and sister during the relentless bombings. The medical facilities in Gaza are overwhelmed, with the influx of injured patients and limited resources stretching the staff to their limits.
Even in the face of such abhorrent destruction, the resilient spirit of the Gazan people perseveres. Al Sattari sighed heavily. Then spoke, “If you have faith, if you have Iman, if you understand you are on a land that is destined to stand in the face of injustice, then everything and trial you go through, you take it like you accept and you say it’s for the sake of Allah.”
Despite the unimaginable suffering, the people of Gaza remain united, sharing what little they have and displaying unwavering generosity and hope. As the region grapples with the devastating consequences of the ongoing conflict, the international community continues to call for an immediate cessation of hostilities to prevent further loss of innocent lives.
“We will stand in the face of the wrath and the fire, and we will Insha’Allah survive and we will win. It’s very difficult to believe now that we will win under this ongoing bombardment and heavy fire, but trust me, if you have the Imaan, the faith in your heart, nothing on this earth, nothing on this earth whatsoever will break you and this is the story of Gaza.”
As the world watches, macabre footage of complete destruction in Gaza emerges. Grim, grey images of people carrying survivors covered in dust and soot from the remains of bombarded buildings burn holes through the hearts of the Ummah. Videos of missiles and rockets striking the homes, hospitals and refugee camps of the Gazan people show a flash of light, then dark, grey clouds mushrooming against the blue sky above the Palestinian people. In the aftermath, videos record people killed, maimed and dismembered. Buildings are razed to the ground, burying men, women and children beneath them. The survivors try to dig them out with their bare hands with the smell of war in the air around them. Pain. So much pain. Sadness. So much sadness. Loss. So much loss. Fear. So much fear. Fatigue. So much fatigue. Destruction. Utter destruction. A mother cries over the bodies of her martyred children. Suffering. So much suffering.
And yet. “People are still hospitable, people are still welcoming, people are still generous, people are still giving, people are still believing, people are still accepting, people are still coping, people are still hoping, and they will never be broken and quote my word. Insha’Allah they will remain steadfast,” Al Sattari said.
As the world watches the crisis unfold, the people of Gaza continue to endure, steadfast in their resilience and determination, echoing the sentiment that even in the face of adversity, their spirit will remain unbroken. Our thoughts and Du’aas remain with the people of Gaza and Palestine, as they navigate through this horror. Du’aa is the weapon of a believer.
