Following the global announcement at IFA in Berlin earlier this year, Lenovo has unveiled a series of new personal and gaming laptops.
Yoga C930
First up is the company’s premium Yoga range. Powered by 8th Gen Intel Core™ processors, the Lenovo Yoga C930 is Lenovo’s flagship Windows 10 consumer 2-in-1 laptop which double as a tablet, debuting a Rotating Sound Bar with Dolby Atmos Speaker System and supports Dolby Vision HDR.
The Yoga C930 also features a Garaged Pen that charges in its compartment .Far-range mics enable Cortana and Alexa on the Yoga C930 to recognize voice command from up to four meters away, even in standby mode.
The Yoga C930 is available in South Africa with a starting retail price of R29,999.
ThinkPad X1 Extreme
Lenovo’s new ThinkPad X1 Extreme enables users to power through intensive NVIDIA GeForce graphics and the latest 8th Gen Intel Core processors featuring integrated Gigabit Wi-Fi, which includes Core i9.
The multi-monitor support enables multitasking and RapidCharge technology charges the battery up to 80 percent in just 60 minutes. It has a 4K, display with Dolby Vision HDR and Dolby Atmos and also sport Innovative security features include ThinkShutter camera cover to shut off the webcam.
With Windows Hello facial recognition, and touch fingerprint reader, the ThinkPad X1 Extreme is available in South Africa with a starting retail price of R36,999.
ThinkPad P1 Mobile Workstation
The ThinkPad P1 mobile workstation is Lenovo’s thinnest and lightest mobile station. the ThinkPad P1 power supply is 35 percent smaller and lighter than predecessors. It features 8th Gen Intel Xeon and Core™ processors, including support for the Core i9 CPU, and delivers ECC memory support and clocks speeds up to 4.6GHz.
This mobile workstation offers a 15-inch, 4K UHD display, representing 100% of the Adobe color gamut, as well as a touchscreen, IR camera standard, 4TB of M.2 PCIe premier storage and 64GB of memory at 2667MHz.
The ThinkPad P1 is available in South Africa with a starting price of R56,999.
Lenovo Legion™ Gaming PC’s
Lenovo also unleashed the new Legion gaming laptops built for what it calls on-the-go gamers.
The new laptop comes fully-equipped with up to NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti GPUs, up to the latest 8th Gen Intel Core i7 processors and Windows 10. It is the world’s first gaming laptop with Dolby Atmos Speaker System with Dolby Sound Radar.
The Lenovo Legion Y730 Laptop is the world’s first gaming laptop with a CORSAIR iCUE RGB backlit keyboard and system lighting, featuring six custom macro “Y” keys for added customization of more than 16 million color combinations.
The Lenovo Legion Y730 is available in South Africa with a starting retail price of R30,000.
Speaking at the launch in Fourways, on Wednesday, Thibault Dousson, General Manager for Southern Africa at Lenovo, emphasised how technology continues to positively impact and solve challenges around humanity.
“Over the recent past, we’ve seen a shift in usage of personal computing devices that is currently underway across the region, with a significant increase in demand for transformative computing solutions and gaming PC’s.”
