Is it possible to hack a mobile smartphone?
According to tech expert Aki Anastasiou the risk of mobile phones being compromised by hackers is a real possibility which can have serious and embarrassing consequences for users.
This comes after Home Affairs Minister Malusi Gigaba tweeted that a video containing material of a sexual nature, meant only for him and his wife was stolen when his phone was hacked 18 months ago.
Anastasiou says hackers use different way of hacking into phones.
“The reality is phones are very secure, unless you’re using every level of authentication. Even then you are vulnerable.”
Anastasiou says there are various ways of users protecting themselves as “hack proof” as possible, but the vulnerabilities are always going to exist for people wanting to steal personal information.
