My Lord Nurtures Me

Placing Love in the Hearts of Others

One of the most beautiful ways Allah nurtures us is by filling our lives with love and compassion from those around us. He places love in the hearts of our parents, spouses, children, friends, and even strangers, allowing us to experience care, kindness, and emotional security. This love is not just a mere feeling but a divine blessing that strengthens relationships, builds communities, and brings peace to our hearts. Allah, in His infinite wisdom, has made love a fundamental part of human connection, guiding us toward unity and harmony.

  1. Love as a Divine Gift from Allah

Love is not something we create on our own — it is Allah who places it in our hearts. Whether it is the bond between parents and children, the affection between spouses, or the kindness between believers, all love originates from Him. Allah confirms this in the Qur’an:

“And He has placed affection and mercy between you. Verily, in that are signs for people who reflect.” (Ar-Rum 30: 21)

This verse highlights how the love and mercy found in relationships are not random but signs of Allah’s presence in our lives.

The Prophet ﷺ said:

“When Allah loves a servant, He calls Jibreel and says, ‘Indeed, I love so-and-so, so love him.’ Then Jibreel loves him, and he announces in the heavens: ‘Allah loves so-and-so, so love him.’ So, the inhabitants of the heavens love him, and acceptance is placed for him on Earth.” (Muslim 2637)

This hadith shows that Allah’s love flows through the universe, reaching the hearts of His creation and bringing warmth into our relationships.

  1. The Love of Parents and Family: A Form of Divine Mercy

One of the most powerful forms of love is the unconditional love between parents and children. This love is not just natural — it is a direct act of Allah’s nurturing care.

“And We have enjoined upon man [care] for his parents. His mother carried him, [increasing her] in weakness upon weakness, and his weaning is in two years. Be grateful to Me and to your parents; to Me is the [final] destination.” (Luqman 31: 14)

This verse emphasizes that parental love is not just emotional but a sacred duty placed by Allah. Parents sacrifice, nurture, and care for their children out of deep love — a love Allah Himself has placed in their hearts.

Interesting Fact:

Did you know that studies show a mother’s heartbeat synchronizes with her baby’s heart when she holds them close? This deep bond is a physical manifestation of the love Allah has placed between parent and child.

Love as a Reflection of Allah’s Nurturing Care

Allah nurtures us not only by providing for our physical needs but also by filling our lives with love. Whether through:

  • Parents who care for us
  • Spouses who support us
  • Friends and believers who strengthen us
  • Strangers who show unexpected kindness

All love comes from Allah’s mercy and divine wisdom. It is a sign of His presence, a blessing we should cherish, and a trust we should uphold.
