OnePlus 5T Aims to Compete with Flagship Smartphones at Half the Cost

Faizel Patel, Radio Islam News – 21-11-2017

Dubbed as a flagship killer, One Plus has unveiled the successor to the OnePlus 5 with the OnePlus 5T with a premium full-screen experience at half the cost of Apple’s iPhone X.

The 5T is a revamped version of the 5 launched in June and marks the second time the company has updated its smartphone line.

It features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, memory and storage options, fast-charging system and Oxygen OS software based on last year’s Android 7.1.1, not the newer Android 8 Oreo.

The OnePlus 5T brings an edge-to-edge display and also moves the fingerprint sensor to the back. It also comes with a facial recognition system using the front-facing selfie camera to unlock the device.

The biggest difference between the OnePlus 5T and the OnePlus 5 is the 6-inch Samsung made OLED screen which has a resolution of 1080×2160 pixels.

The OnePlus 5T will only be available in midnight black and go on sale on 21 November across Europe and North America, priced at £449 (R 8,400) for 64GB storage and 6GB RAM, and £499 (R 9,300) for 128GB storage and 8GB of RAM.
