During the olive harvest, settlers attack Palestinians, causing chaos.
The olive harvest marks the start of autumn for Palestinians every year, without fail. Attacks on Palestinian farmers and families by Israeli settlers and armed troops dominate much of the harvest
The attacks, which include farmer beatings and tree destruction, began before the official start of the olive harvest season on October 12 in the occupied West Bank, but have increased in frequency over the last week.
Hafez Ebrahim Moosa spoke to Radio Islam International; he says that since last year over 9000 olive trees have been destroyed in the West Bank alone.
The attacks were “ideologically driven and primarily meant to take over land, but also to frighten and terrorise Palestinians,” according to the UN.
“International volunteers are going out to the West Bank to assist in the harvest and fought these attacks”.

The AU’s chairperson declared that Israel had been awarded observer status in the organisation at this time. Without consulting other member nations, this announcement was made.
Despite the fact that many other countries have been awarded observer status, Israel’s has sparked debate on the continent and around the world.
Hafez Ebrahim Moosa says that many NGO’s across the African Continent have raised their objection.Joint soccer World Cup between Israel and Arab Nations on the cards
Member states were taken aback by this announcement. Countries dispute as to whether Israel should continue to be an observer in the AU. Many people oppose Israel’s continued presence, citing the occupation of Palestine as their justification.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino suggested that Israel take part in a regional campaign to host the 2030 World Cup, which is being led by the United Arab Emirates.
Infantino suggested that Israel, along with other Arab countries, could host matches.
