Police Minister And His National Commissioner At Loggerheads

South Africans can be forgiven for wondering what is happening in our country as it lunges from one crisis to the other.

Over the past couple of weeks we were mostly focusing on the drama in the ANC, but serious problems have also emerged from within the national police services.

There is a tense standoff between the Minister of Police Bheki Cele and his National Police Commissioner Khehla Sitole.

Cele went as far as calling out Sitole for disregarding his instructions in connection with senior appointments.
Radio Islam spoke to criminologist, Simon Howell.

He says there was hardly a good working relationship between the two.
