On the Occasion of Moulana Heider AE Dhorat Retirement from Radio Islam International

COMMUNITY STATEMENT: It is with profound sadness and reluctance that we announce the retirement of Moulana Heider Aly Ebrahim Dhorat from Radio Islam International where he has served as a founder and station manager, since 1995. The Board of Directors and Management acknowledge the immense contribution of Moulana Dhorat whose foresight, unwavering dedication, and tenacity have over the years proven instrumental not only in the founding, establishment and growth of the station but also navigating turbulent times when the station faced headwinds. Moulana Dhorat’s visionary leadership laid a strong foundation for the station, enabling it to become a pivotal platform, awardwinning and a model in the sector of community radio and journalism. His commitment has opened the doors for countless individuals to embark on rewarding careers in leadership, broadcasting and media.

Under his guidance, Radio Islam International has nurtured talent and fostered opportunities that have shaped the paths of many aspiring professionals. By voluntarily retiring from his position upon reaching retirement age, Moulana Dhorat has demonstrated laudable spirit of selflessness and a level of goodwill that is rare in facilitating smooth transition and continuity of an organisation. It is further testimony of his remarkable sense of responsibility that all of us will remember as a lasting legacy.

As Moulana Dhorat steps into retirement, we wish him the very best in this new chapter of his life. We are confident that his passion and wisdom will continue to inspire us, and we count on his continued availability to advise Radio Islam International as it approaches new frontiers of the ever-changing landscape of media and broadcasting. We are reminded of the saying of Rasūlullāh (Sallallhu Alayhi Wa Sallam): “The best of people are those who are of most benefit to others.” (Tabarani)

Indeed, Moulana’s decades of service have brought benefit to thousands, directly and indirectly. We pray to Allah Almighty to grant him good personal health and strength, so that he can continue to serve our community in various other roles we are sure he will be embarking on. May Allah accept Moulana’s efforts as Sadaqah Jaariya and continue to imbue him with the blessings of His Guidance, Aameen.
