Episode 2: Hudaibiyah, the clear victory

The Treaty of Hudaibiyah is described in the Qur’an as “an open victory” because this Treaty was in fact the forerunner of the Liberation of Makkah.

Sayyiduna Abdullah Ibn Masud (RA) and some other Sahaba (RA) would say: “You think the conquest of Makkah is ‘Victory’ but we regard “the very Treaty of Hudaibiyah as the real ‘Victory’.

Likewise, Bara’ Ibn `Azib (RA) said: “You think ‘Victory’ refers to the conquest of Makkah. No doubt, it does, but we think the Pledge of Ridwan on the occasion of Hudaibiyah is the ‘real victory’…”
