Travel Tips

Try to make arrangements early, book accommodation, flights, trains and everything else in advance. That said, if you leave things until last minute, you might find special discounted last- minute fares and packages.

Prices are cheaper out of session

The two most costly things about going on holiday are transport and accommodation. Keep your eyes open for bargains.

One of the best investments you will ever make is a good guide book.

Check out your destination before you go

If you have a planned itinerary with contact numbers and addresses, make 3 copies. 1 to leave with friends or family another to place some where in your luggage.

If you are on a packaged tour, keep a copy of the itinerary on you. The advantage of a package tour is that you really do get value for money.

Always leave a contact number for somebody at home so you can be reached.

If the country you intent visiting has a tourism office in South Africa, pay it a visit.

In South Africa, most towns have local tourist or information offices.
