The Vaal Dam is full after weeks of persistent heavy rain that has improved the country’s largest water system.
The Integrated Vaal River System is critical as it supplies key entities such as Sasol and Eskom.
The system provides water to Gauteng, the Free State, North West and Mpumalanga.
The rainfall has also increased levels at the Grootdraai, Bloemhof and Sterkfontein dams.
Radio Islam spoke to Jacques Jansen van Vuuren of the Vaal Dam Reservoir Forum.
