Popular messaging service WhatsApp is back online after a brief global outage.
Users across the world took to social media app Twitter sharing the hashtag #WhatsAppDown complaining they were unable to send and receive messages.
Owned by Facebook WhatsApp allows users to share images and videos, as well as make and receive video and voice calls.
This is not the first time WhatsApp has been hit by a worldwide outage. In May, the messaging service was again affected by a global blackout.
Recently WhatsApp rolled out the ability to delete sent messages in case a user made a mistake or sent an embarrassing message to a wrong person.
The new feature called “delete for everyone” was added to Android, iOS and Windows Phone versions of the app.
