500g beef fillet or chicken fillet
1 tsp salt
2 tsp garlic
1recipe white sauce
1 large onion chopped
1 tsp black pepper
1 Tbsp butter
Method
Braize onions in butter until pink, add garlic, beef, salt and pepper.
Cook until done, then add white sauce. Mix well and cool. Fill for filling until nearly full. Smear edges with lai, put smaller circle on top and seal, neaten edges, brush with egg and bake at 180 degrees Celsius for 30 minutes or until golden brown on top. If using pie maker don’t use lai and don’t brush with egg. Makes approximately 10 muffin size pies.
White sauce
1 full Tbsp cake flour
1 Tbsp butter
2 cups milk
½ tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
Method
Braize the flour and butter until frothy then add the rest of the ingredients, stirring all the time so that you don’t have lumps. Cook until thick and saucy.
For a cheese sauce, add ½ cup grated cheese.
