Radio Islam International listeners are advised that our service provider, Sentech, has completed a major upgrade to their satellite systems.

This upgrade has resulted in a change to the symbol rate, which means that many decoders will need to be manually retuned to continue receiving Radio Islam.

Extended Deadline for Retuning

Sentech has extended the dual illumination period for the 33k & 35k transponders to 31 October 2025. This extension gives Radio Islam more time to communicate with listeners and ensure a smooth transition.

As of 1 November 2025, Radio Islam International will be available only on the 35k transponder.

We’ve provided simple step-by-step guides below for both the Radio Islam Small Decoder (2023 model) and the Auto Scan Decoders (2015 models). A video has also been included with this article to make the process even easier.

Kindly note that some older decoder models will unfortunately no longer be compatible after this upgrade.

Updated Satellite Parameters

As of now, the correct settings in use for the Radio Islam Service are:

• Frequency: 12722
• Symbol Rate: 30000
• Polarity: Vertical

As of 18 October 2025, these settings (12722 / 30000 / Vertical, 35K transponder) will remain the permanent ones going forward.

This confirmation ensures all receivers are configured correctly without disruption.

Decoder Compatibility Notice

Decoders that use HDMI cables are supported and will work after retuning.

Decoders that only use AV cables are no longer supported.

RETUNING DECODERS

Radio Islam Small Decoder (2023 Model) (Note: A TV is required to retune this decoder)

1. Press the Menu button on your Radio Islam remote.
2. Under Installation, go to Manual Scan and press OK.
3. Scroll down to 117. Frequency 12722 and Symbol Rate 2257.
4. Press the Yellow button to Edit Frequency.
5. Go down to Symbol Rate.
6. Change the Symbol Rate from 2257 →
7. Scroll down and press
8. Check that the Quality bar turns Green.
9. Press the Blue button to Search. TP Search will appear.
10. In TP Search:
    • FTA → Press Right arrow to select
    • TV/Radio → Press Left arrow to select
    • Network Search → Select
11. Scroll down to Search and press
12. After searching, a message will appear to Select OK.
13. Channels can be deleted or moved under the TV/Radio Menu.

Radio Islam Auto Scan Decoders (2015 Models)

Without a TV

On your decoder, press the Auto Scan (SRCH will appear).

1. Wait for SRCH to complete (±2 minutes).
2. A music channel will play.
3. Press CH- until you hear Radio Islam.
4. Radio Islam will be between Channel 75–85, depending on your dish installation.

With a TV:

1. Press the Menu
2. Under Installation, scroll to TP List and press OK.
3. Scroll to 45. Frequency 12720 and Symbol Rate 2257.
4. Press the Green button to Edit Frequency and Symbol Rate.
5. Go down to Symbol Rate.
6. Change it from 2257 →
7. Scroll down and press OK on Save.
8. Press Exit three times. Your radio channels will be listed as before.
