Tragedy struck the Northern Cape as heavy rain and subsequent flooding claimed the lives of five people and left over 10,000 individuals affected. The disaster has caused human casualties and extensive damage to the region’s roads, bridges, and vital infrastructure.

ACDP’s Marie Sukers spoke to Radio Islam International. According to Marie, the biggest impact on people has been the availability of food products. While many stores were running low, other areas had no food products, and people could not travel for supplies as the roads were closed. Responding to the need, Marie and the disaster teams will bring outside food relief to the area.

In response to the dire situation, Gift of the Givers, a renowned disaster relief group, has mobilized its teams to provide much-needed assistance to the affected communities.

Recognizing the urgent need for relief and assistance, the renowned disaster relief organization Gift of the Givers swiftly mobilized their teams and resources. Their primary objective is to provide critical aid to the affected communities, supporting those who have lost their homes and belongings. Gift of the Givers has a proven track record of providing essential services during times of crisis, and their presence in the Northern Cape brings hope and relief to those affected by the floods, BNN Breaking reported.
