Google has banned apps on its app Play Store that facilitate the sale of marijuana or related products as part of a change to its content policy.

A Google spokesperson told Reuters Developers only need to move their shopping cart option outside the app to comply with the new policy.

Google says it’s working with developers to answer technical questions and help them implement the changes without customer disruption.

Existing apps have 30 days post launch to comply with the policy.

The Verge reports that Apple’s App Store already bans “facilitating the sale of marijuana, tobacco, or controlled substances” or “encourag[ing] consumption of tobacco products, illegal drugs, or excessive amounts of alcohol” through apps.

This has led it to ban marijuana-related apps in the past, although it’s eased up since then. Weedmaps and Eaze both operate on iOS, but they don’t offer in-app ordering.
