The devastation of the earthquake in Türkiye and Syria has been life-changing for many; we have seen humanity come together to make a difference.
During this week, a popular news network shared amazing videos of notes found in jacket pockets and hidden between toys from children to children, which had many volunteers and news agencies become emotional.
There were a few special notes.
A note was left in a jacket that read, this is my favourite winter coat, but you need it more than I do, so please have it, and I hope you will love it as much as I do- written by a six-year-old.
9-year-old Hanfie wrote: “My heart aches for you. M y God give you and all of Turkey patience. My grandmother made this blanket for me. I carry her memory. Y u need it more than I do.”
Belinay from Ankara wrote, “We’re going to help you as best we can. I am ten years old. I got you some aid from my allowance money.”
An anonymous letter read, “I wish I could be with you during these difficult times. B t these toys are my gift to you. I wish I could go there and play with you, but you can play with these toys instead. I love you.”
Simple notes give people hope and know they are not alone; words have such an impact, and the smallest gestures go a long way.
