Now that Ramadan is over, esteemed Islamic scholar Ml Ebrahim Bham has urged Muslims to  maintain their spiritual habits achieved during Ramadan, especially the recitation and completion of the Holy Qur’an.

Ml Bham was sharing some advices post Ramadan during the social programme on Thursday on Radio Islam.

Sadly, many people only open and complete a recitation of the Qur’an during the blessed month of Ramadan while the book of Allah gathers dust for the rest of the year.

Ml Bham says people must be consistent with the recitation of the Qur’an every day throughout the year and not only in Ramadan.

“Nabi (SAW) was asked what is the best tilawat (recitation). So he said: ‘the moment you finish one tilawat, you start off one khatam (completion) you start of the next khatam. So this is so important”

Ml Bham says people cannot only khatam the Qur’an in Ramadan.

“What type of relationship is that with the Qur’an that you only make khatam of the holy Qur’an in Ramadan? Even if it takes you more time than what it normally takes you in Ramadan, you can’t go and say I am only going to read Qur’an in Ramadan and only make khatam of the holy Qur’an in Ramadan. Even if it is two, three pages, four pages, quarter supara, even if it takes you one two months or three, four months of those who are not Hafidh, but read your Qur’an on a regular basis.”

Ml Bham says Allah says in the Qur’an: ‘Qur’an at the time of Fajr is witnessed by the Angels,’ adding that that is why Ulama emphasise that the Fajr salaah is so important and the recitation of Qur’an during the two rakaats should be longer.
