[LISTEN] Edris Khammisa: “Change is the Only Certain Thing in Life”

Faizel Patel – 23/06/2021

Motivational speaker Edris Khammisa says the only thing that is certain in life is change.

Khammisa was speaking to Radio Islam as the country battles the COVID-19 pandemic and many people losing loved ones because of the pandemic.

With the loss of a loved one, certain changes become inevitable as you try to adapt to the new environment.

Khammisa says changes in life is inevitable.

“What we need to do is not to react in a way but be more proactive. Think of a long-term strategy and the whole idea is we need to acknowledge that life is very fanatic and things are happening overnight.”

Khammisa says change is not necessarily a bad thing.

“It is also positive. Because what happens is this, they say you either adapt or die. The people that will thrive and survive here of course is naturally those that have taqwa Alhamdulillah and second those that have a health self-esteem and are amenable to change. It’s in essence trying to reinvent yourself and understanding that everything comes for Allah.”

Khammisa says people need to adopt the right attitude as many have become spectators in the own life.
