Renowned and esteemed Islamic scholar Ml Ebrahim Bham says the current atmosphere in South Africa has been a very challenging and testing time for families and the Muslim community throughout the country.
Ml Bham was speaking during the Social programme on Radio Islam International on Thursday.
With the current COVID-19 pandemic, the loss of loved ones and the difficult economic climate, many people have been struggling to fully address the turmoil that they are going through.
Ml Bham says we should not undermine the challenges that people are facing.
“Speaking lightly about those challenges is a slap in the face of those people who are going through challenges.”
Ml Bham has also urged people in positions of authority to be sensitive to the needs of others who are going through difficulty.
“Those who have the mic, those who have a public platform, they need to be extremely careful and not be reckless in their statements by undermining or pouring water on the difficulties and challenges of people. Rather let us be among those who’ll give support and give comfort and give reassurance for all of those people who are going through difficulty.”
Ml Bham says Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said there is no greater dua after yakeen, conviction in Allah than to ask Allah for aafiyat which means prosperity, goodness, ease and health for every occasion and may Allah grant us that Ameen.
