Renowned and esteemed Islamic scholar Ml Sulaiman Moola says if an adulterer and adulteress have repented and made taubah for their actions, than people should allow them to lead their lives without reproach.

Ml Moola was speaking during the 11th annual Seerah Jalsah at the Nurul Islam Masjid in Lenasia on Saturday.

It has become a common occurrence for a man to be constantly taunted in society and in some cases suffer the humiliation of not having a relationship with his children because his ex-wife uses their offspring as a pawn or weapon to hurt his feelings.

Quoting a verse from the holy Qur’an, Ml Moola says people need to move on if those who have committed a sin have repented.

“Hakeemul Ummah says in this ayah Allah is telling us when somebody has repented, don’t sit and harp that old song. My sister respectfully if I can ask you, if your husband has erred in the past and he has repented, don’t dig sore wounds, don’t call him an adulterer when the man has made taubah.”

Continuing with the verse from the Qur’an, Ml Moola says Allah gives reasons as to why those who have repented should not be taunted.

“Why call people nasty things? Yes, he’s repented, you are hurting his feelings, he’s repented to Allah, you might provoke him back to the old wrong.”

Ml Moola says Islam is such a beautiful religion that it teaches us to be considerate to those who have committed a sin and sought repentance and taubah from Allah.
