Dealing with the loss of a loved one is very painful. The grief can be overwhelming and drive you to experience pain you have never experienced before.
On Wednesday, I lost my mum who succumbed to COVID-19. She had been staying with us and she literally passed away in my arms as my wife and kids stood next to me broken to pieces at what they were witnessing.
While my brothers Yusuf, Ebrahim and the rest of the family are also suffering the pains of losing our mother, their grief may be worse because they only got to see her the night before she left this world.
There are millions of people like me who have lost loved ones and trying to numb the excruciating pain and grief.
So, how do you deal with the grief and death of losing a loved one? Esteemed and renowned scholar Ml Sulaimaan Ravat beautifully explains the process step by step.
Ml Ravat says the words of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) we need to offer at the time of condolence is that “Everything belongs to Allah and everything has to return to Allah.”
I hope that his words bring you comfort and solace and hopefully ease the pain that many are dealing with after losing a loved one.
