Organic and Natural Products Expo Africa Set to Return to Cape Town in 2025

Fresh organic produce at the Organic and Natural Products Expo Africa, returning to Cape Town in March 2025.

The much-anticipated Organic and Natural Products Expo Africa is making its grand return to the Cape Town International Convention Centre from March 28 to 30, 2025. Building on the success of last year’s inaugural event in the Western Cape, this year’s Expo promises to be even bigger, attracting exhibitors and buyers from around the globe.

The Expo, Africa’s premier showcase for organic and natural products, continues to play a pivotal role in promoting sustainable and healthy living. John Thompson, CEO of SA Trade Promotions, the event’s organizer, emphasized the growing demand for organic and natural goods post-COVID. “The world has truly embraced natural and organic products since the pandemic,” Thompson told Radio Islam International.

One of the Expo’s primary goals is to support small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the sector. “It’s expensive to get organic certification, but many natural products are organically grown by nature. We want to give SMEs a platform to thrive,” Thompson explained.

Highlighting the event’s inclusivity, Thompson noted the shift from organic products being seen as a luxury for the wealthy to becoming more accessible to a broader audience. “Major retailers now have organic sections, and products are more affordable and available than ever,” he added.

The 2025 Expo will feature exhibitors from Southern Africa, including Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, and Zambia, along with a dedicated West African pavilion. A significant milestone for this year is the participation of the Russian Organic Association, set to bring a delegation to explore African markets.

In addition to the physical event, the Expo will offer a hybrid experience, allowing both trade buyers and consumers to participate virtually. Attendees can access the event via the Organic and Natural Portal, which connects over 10,000 businesses monthly.
