The Palestine Report with Ebrahim Moosa

Last week, Israelis travelling on a Ryanair flight from Italy were angered after a flight attendant announced that the flight was entering Palestine as the plane prepared to land at Tel Aviv Airport.

They called for a boycott of the Irish airline after the attendant repeated the destination as Palestine in Italian and English.

The air hostess refused to apologise after the Zionists demanded she do so. The airline said it was a junior staff member’s error, but several of the flight crew admonished the group for creating a disturbance and endangering the other passengers.

Avi Schlaim, a British-Israeli historian, has made sensational claims in his new book, Three Worlds, saying he has uncovered undeniable proof of Israeli attacks on Arab-Jewish communities in Iraq. However, the attacks were made against Jews in the early fifties.

The book is the memoirs of an Arab Jew detailing his childhood in Iraq and subsequent exile to Israel. He says in the book that there may have been involvement by Arabs, but the Zionist involvement is undeniable against Jews, which saw an exodus of Jews to Israel. The bombings, allegedly by MOSSAD, between 1950 and 1951 quickened the movement of Jews from Arab lands to Israel.

According to Moosa, this revelation underscores that Jews were well-integrated into Arab societies, but the fear created by Israelis after the Nakba saw them flee to the newly created State of Israel to increase its population.

With the Hajj pilgrimage period beginning, 6600 Palestinians from the West Bank and Gaza Strip are journeying to Saudi Arabia. The group left over four days, and depending on which part of the country they originated from, they will travel from specific points. Those from the West Bank will travel to Jordan and then onto Saudi Arabia, whilst those from the Gaza Strip will go through the Rafah border into Egypt and then onto the Holy Lands.

For those travelling via the Rafah border, especially the elderly and chronically ill, the journey is gruelling, but their solace is in knowing that they will soon be visitors to the blessed lands.

In addition to the group constituting the quota for Hajj, another thousand will be making the journey at the invitation of the King as his guests in the King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz Hajj Guest Program.
