All parties involved in the Multiparty Charter for South Africa signed a pre-election agreement covering their vision, priorities and shared governing principles. They also made decisions on power sharing, which will most likely benefit the DA as the biggest party in the potential coalition.

The seven parties as part of the Multiparty Charter for South Africa are the DA, Inkatha Freedom Pary (IFP), Freedom Front Plus (FF+), ActionSA, United Independent Movement (UIM), Independent SA National Civic Organisation (Isanco) and the Spectrum National Party (SNP).

Last week, they spent two days mulling over how to remove the ANC from power and keep the EFF from holding any governance positions.

However, New kids on the political block, such as Rise Mzansi and Build One South Africa, should immediately jump on the Multiparty Charter bus.

Rise Mzansi Chief Organiser Makashule Gana spoke to Radio Islam International on his scepticism surrounding the Multiparty Charter.

Having just announced their rival in the political seats, Rise Mzansi currently needs a mandate from the voters to engage in coalition conversations.

“Rise Mzansi awaits mandate of votes to know how much of support we receive from South Africans and the amount of strength we do have before we enter into a coalition,” says Gana.

The current Rise Mzansi is the manifesto convention at the end of September which aims to put together and offer South Africa how best to save and rebuild the country.

Rise Mzansi aligns with the rationale behind the Multiparty Charter, wanting to unseat the ANC at the next elections.

“The reason Rise Mzansi was established, is that we see everything wrong with the current political establishment. When parties that are part of the current political establishment come together it is not a matter that excites us because they are part of the problem. The only coalition we want to have, is a coalition with the people of South Africa,” Gana added.
