Rise Mzansi’s leader clarifies Oppenheimer funding and position on Palestine

The party’s National Leader Songezo Zibi spoke to Radio Islam International and discussed, among other things, allegations that there is a connection between the donation from Rebecca Oppenheimer and the party’s foreign policy stance.

  • Zibi says that despite Rise Mzansi’s financial transparency and repeated clarification that there is no link between donors and its stance on Palestine, there is a glaring lack of support for the party from Palestinian supporters.
  • The party has a good chance of garnering up to 5% of electoral support, notwithstanding what the polls reflect, and will use that support to represent South Africans in parliament to increase oversight, hold others accountable, and improve the quality of legislation.
