SA In Turmoil: Cause & Solution

By Mufti Yusuf Moosagie
12:08:2021

Abdullah bin Umar Radiyallahu Anhu narrates, “The Messenger of Almighty Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam turned to us and said:

“O Muhajirun, there are five things with which you will be tested, and I seek refuge with Allah lest you live to see them:

Immorality never appears among a people to such an extent that they commit it openly, but plagues and diseases that were never known among the predecessors will spread among them

They do not cheat in weights and measures, but they will be stricken with famine, severe calamity and the oppression of their rulers.

They do not withhold the Zakah of their wealth, but rain will be withheld from the sky and was it not for the animals, no rain would fall on them.

They do not break their covenant with Allah and His Messenger, but Allah will enable their enemies to overpower them and take some of what is in their hands.

Unless their leaders rule according to the Book of Allah and seek all good from that which Allah has revealed, Allah will cause them to fight one another.

This is narrated by ibn Majah.

The Jamiatul Ulama South Africa has called on the Muslim community to engage in the following activities:

  1. Make sincere Tawbah with regret and remorse.
  2. Leave shameless dressing and become modest.
  3. Stop all shameful relations.
  4. Stop all forms of Zina.
  5. Stop viewing indecent and shameful scenes on TV and social media.
  6. Perform Salah with Jamat.
  7. Make abundant Dhikr and Istighfar.
  8. Discharge your Zakah.
  9. Increase your charity.
  10. Do not indulge in extravagance.
  11. Respect your parents.
  12. Desist from interest.
  13. Promote virtue and prohibit vice

Observing all of this will inshallah be a means of attracting the mercy of Almighty Allah.

We ask Almighty Allah to shower his mercy on all the Muslims of South Africa and grant us prosperity and favourable conditions. Aameen
