Samsung Unveils Galaxy Note 8

Faizel Patel, Radio Islam News – 24-08-2017

After the nightmare of the Samsung Note 7 which sparked numerous memes because of its battery issue, Samsung has unveiled its Galaxy Note 8 smartphone, which it describes as the “next level Note “.

The South Korean company says Consumers get a bigger Infinity Display that fits comfortably in one hand, S Pen to communicate in more ways, and Samsung’s best-ever smartphone camera to capture stunning photos.

The Note 8 features the biggest screen ever on a Note device, a 6.3-inch Quad HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity Display.

The Galaxy Note 8 is the first smartphone with two 12MP rear cameras with optical image stabilisation on both the wide-angle and telephoto lenses.

The phone’s curved body is built from the same blend of metal and glass, and there’s an octa-core Snapdragon 835 chip lurking inside, albeit with 6GB of RAM, up from 4GB on the S8.

It also features an enhanced S Pen, which provides new ways to write, draw, and interact with the device.

There is a fingerprint sensor on the Note’s back, next to Samsung’s first dual-camera setup, a USB-C port on the bottom and a headphone jack right next to that.

The Note 8 is rated IP68 for water- and dust-resistance, and there’s a microSD slot to supplement the built-in 64GB, 128GB or 256GB of storage.

The Note 8 will be available from mid-September in Midnight Black, Orchid Gray, Maple Gold, and Deepsea Blue.

The Note 8 will launch in South Africa on the 22 September at a recommended retail price of R18,499
