Samsung Unveils LED Screens at Times Square Hotel in Pretoria

Faizel Patel, Radio Islam News – 30-10-2017

Samsung Africa has unveiled it’s first outdoor LED screens, a first for Africa at Sun International’s Time Square Hotel, and Entertainment complex in Menlyn, Pretoria.

According to Samsung, the two LED screens measuring 15m x 9m and 9m x 6m provides brighter and more vibrant picture quality and is able to withstand variable weather conditions and exposure to natural and ambient light.

Through premium diodes and advanced video processing technologies, the displays produce an ultra-high 49,920 Hz. refresh rate that streams videos without interruption. The XPS Series also is equipped to deter light interference, and produce bright (9,000 nit) images regardless of conditions.

Samsung’s Director for Consumer Electronics Mike van Lier says with the changing marketing landscape, more emphasis is being placed on changeable, digital displays.

“Running targeted promotional campaigns has always been a challenge, but going digital is allowing operators to get more timely and tactical about what they want to emphasise and promote. With outdoor digital signage, adjustments take a matter of minutes, as messages are fine-tuned and promotions are catered to the varying attributes of the audience.”
