Schoolgirl kidnapped in Mayfair

Just as the Moti brothers returned home following three weeks of their kidnapping, another child was allegedly abducted from the EP Bauman Primary School in Mayfair on Wednesday morning. 

Witnesses say the child was standing in a line to enter the school gate after being dropped off when three armed men in a Toyota Yaris called the child by her name and took off with her. 

Radio Islam spoke to Gauteng Education Department, Steve Mabona, who says that the schools are being monitored, and the police are doing their job. 

Mabona stressed that the Covid-19 regulations of having school children scanned before entering the premises had increased the risk of kidnappings. 

Shortly after the alleged kidnapping, a task team was sent to investigate and provide children and staff trauma counselling support.
