1 ½ cups castor sugar
3 eggs
½ tsp nutmeg
½ tsp cloves
½ tsp elachi
Pinch ground naartjie peel
Pinch of salt
3 cups flour
Method:
Cream butter and sugar together. Add eggs and beat well. Add dry ingredients and form into firm, soft dough. Divide dough into 2 parts. Colour one part with soetkoek. Put both parts together and roll out ½ cm thick. Cutin shapes preferably square shapes. Press a peanut or raisin in centre and bake at 180 for 15 min. Roll in castor sugar.
