Strategy. The Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines strategy as “the science and art of employing the political, economic, psychological, and military forces of a nation or group of nations to afford the maximum support to adopted policies in peace or war.”
The Electoral College holds a variety of different ‘paths to power’ with each strategy aimed to maximise the numbers required to win the Electoral College and thus the White House. Candidates, in many instances, will have different paths to power and several strategies to fall back on should the need arise.
Trump, though, has chosen the only path to power for him and will chase it no matter what it does to scar America.
An analysis of Trump’s performance in the first debate may elicit that it was the worst debate in history and that he should be muted due to his belligerence and bullying behaviour. But that may be the worst understanding and suggestion of that debate.
To ensure that his victory, Trump speaks only to his support base and to mute him would give his white supremacists, QAnon supporters and angry, white working-class further proof the Lamestream Media will allow only Biden to speak thus attempting to steal the White House away from Trump.
His choice of Supreme Court Judge in place, and his incessant declaration that the mail-votes will be rigged, he will see his acolytes proudly march to the ballot boxes as Democrats stay home and mail in their votes. The dynamics award Trump the barest of victories on election night.
As the mail-in votes start to come in, Trump will declare victory on Election night and shortly after the legal battles begin in every situation to recount or disallow votes. As he keeps this up for 35 days, the Supreme Court then steps in, stacked 6 to 3 in favour of the Conservatives, and makes the call.
Most citizens, angry, erupt into a rage on realising the magnitude of Trump’s corruption strategy and outright theft of the election. Of course, he ruthlessly enacts emergency powers, and his armed military called in to quell the rioting whilst his armed militia protect him.
Dark and tumultuous days are ahead for the US. Strategy can also be defined as knowledge of the goals, the uncertainty of events and the need to take into consideration the likely or actual behaviour of others.
