Bao Buns Recipe

Courtesy @ hahooma kahaani

Bao Buns (pronounced “bow”), but also known as a ‘steamed buns’  are a delicious, warm, fluffy treat of stuffing wrapped inside a sweet, white dough. Made with a mix of flour, yeast, sugar, baking powder, milk and oil, the bao is a tad sweeter than its closely related cousin, the dumpling.

Use the Arabic dough recipe. Roll and shape into an oblong shape and fold onto itself -place a piece of non stick paper between the folded bao and place a piece underneath the bao to prevent sticking. You can Steam in a bamboo steamer or in a colander. Steam for 7-8 minutes.
