Beef Fillet Pot Roast

By Bibi Ayesha Kadwa

@Sunnyside Classics

NO SAUCES ADDED..

Beef Fillet is expensive and does not need much to ingredients to make it shine

It cooks so quickly and is absolutely delicious

Approx 1.2 kg piece of fillet
Trimmed and washed..pat dry with a cloth or paper towel
Poke  all over with a knife
1 tablespoon of  vinegar
1 tsp of crushed fresh garlic
Half tsp lemon pepper
Half tsp white pepper
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp cayenne pepper
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp garlic powder
2 tablespoons of Portuguese peri peri seasoning..watever brand u have

Half tsp of dried rosemary
Few sprigs fresh thyme
1 tbsp barbeque spice
Aromat to taste
Smear the ingredients properly on the fillet and allow to marinate for a while..minimum at least and hour ..overnight even better

Add about 125 to 150g of butter to ur pot
And heat up the butter on medium heat
Gently place ur fillet in the pot and fry the fillet few minutes on each side..gently moving it around so the butter does not burn out If u enjoy medium rare..allow to cook in its own juices Or..

Option 1
Once u have seared all sides..add boiling water to the pot and allow to cook till water reduces but dont let all the gravy burn out

Option 2
Sear well and put into a pre heated..200 degree oven to finish off the cooking
Remove onto a platter and pour the pan juices over the meat Slice the meat and serveAnother option ..add some sauces to the pan juices..WORCESTERSHIRE sauce..soy sauce..peei peri sauce..barbeque sauce

Or a steak baste..different brands are available
Enjoy with mushroom sauce..as i served that on the side..
Leftovers are amazing..if u have any ????
Chips..wedges to roasted veggies are perfect
