Cauliflower bredie

 

Ingredients :

2 onions  sliced thinly
30ml vegetable oil
1kg leg mutton
1 ½ tsp salt
5 whole cloves
2 whole allspice
1 green chilli
2 tsp sugar
150ml water
1 cauliflower broken into florets
3 potatoes  quartered

Method :

– Braise onions in oil until golden.
– Add meat and simmer for 45 minutes, or until meat is well browned.
– Add salt, cloves, allspice, chillies and water.
– Bring to the boil and simmer for about 10 minutes until flavours are well blended.
– Add cauliflower and potatoes and cook until soft. About 20 minutes.
– Serve with rice.
