Chocolate swirl loaf cake

125 g soft butter
225 castor sugar
2 large eggs
10 ml vanilla essence
280 g cake flour
10 ml baking powder
125 ml milk
100 g Nutella


1. Grease and line a 1, 1 litre loaf tin.
2. Beat the butter and castor sugar until light. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in the vanilla essence.
3. Fold in the flour and the baking powder, alternating with the milk. Transfer half of the mixture into a separate bowl and fold in the chocolate spread.
4. Spoon alternating spoonfuls of the chocolate and vanilla mixture into the prepared loaf tin. Use a blunt knife to create swirls in the mixture in the loaf tin.
5. Bake in a preheated oven for one hour or until a skewer comes out clean . Remove from the oven and leave to cool on a wire rack. Serve sliced and spread with extra Nutella if you prefer.
